DTE – HISTORY AND KEY FACTS IN THE MIDSTREAM SECTOR
DTE Energy’s pipeline and storage roots date back to the 1950s and 1960s, when DTE developed gas storage fields from depleted oil and gas reservoirs. DTE’s pipeline and gathering expansions continued into the 1970s and through the 1990s, supporting Michigan’s oil and gas reserve development: Niagaran reef followed by the Antrim shale. Today, DTE Midstream is an active market participant across the Midwest, Appalachia, the Northeast and eastern Canada region, owning interstate pipelines, gas storage and gathering assets. Our focused strategy has positioned us to play an important infrastructure role in the world-class Marcellus and Utica shale plays. We tackle complex and large (>$1 billion) infrastructure projects, e.g. Millennium, Bluestone, AGS, Stonewall, and NEXUS.
Currently, we own more than 1,600 miles of pipelines with a capacity of 6.7 Bcf/d and ~320,000 HP of compression across the Midwest to the Northeast. In addition, we own 91 Bcf of gas storage with 1.2 Bcf per day of deliverability.
